The other day we made ice cream, as we often do. We have a really old school ice cream maker that mixes from the top while you pack the sides with salt and ice. It's a little more work than most ice cream makers nowadays, but we don't mind because it always turns out soo delicious! Well the other day when we were making it we had all the ingredients, except the ice and we really didn't want to go buy some, so we had what we thought was a great idea! There's plenty of "ice" outside right? Here Matt is shoveling the snow into the ice cream maker, (lol don't worry it's not unsanitary, the snow never actually touches the ice cream.)
Ok, lesson learned, snow will not melt properly the way ice does in this sort of ice cream maker. It would only melt the top layer and then freeze over again, so in the end we had to run to the store in order to buy ice, lol.
