Christmas Eve

We were able to head over to Matt's house for Christmas this year. We were worried we wouldn't be able to but the weather cleared up perfectly in order for us to get there and get home safely.
We made the trip over on friday morning and were able to surprise everyone with an early arrival. Christmas Eve was probably the only day that Linc played nicely with his cousin Kairi. The rest of the time I wanted to pull my hair out because he was being so mean to her. How do you teach a two year old to share??
Matt's family has several fun traditions for christmas. They have a yummy Christmas Eve dinner where everyone is supposed to make something, which can end up being an odd variety, but always very delicious! With so many people now, it also means a lot of food! Here are some of us in the midst of the chaos before the feast.
Matt and I waiting patiently for the christmas program to start.
Megan and Mandy sang a beautiful duet accompanied by Nicole on the piano.
Lincoln has been singing jingle bells non stop for the past couple weeks, and we practiced it so we could sing it for the program. I didn't actually have any hope that he would sing it in front of anybody, but was pleasantly surprised when he piped in with two chorus's along with our help!
With Nicole on the piano we all got to pick some of our favorite christmas songs/hymns and sang them together, a tradition which Matt and I really enjoy. Here Linc is enjoying it with his Grandma and GG.
Those silly Day kids!
It was clear the whole time that we were there that Matt is one of Kairi's favorites. She never ran out of hugs for him every time he asked, and I don't think i got a single one the whole trip! She liked this stunt here for about a second, but then was pretty mad at Matt, lol.
We let the kiddos open one present before bed and Lincoln opened a sweet sound puzzle from his aunt Nicole. Linc sure was happy and i'm also sure this is where the refusal to share anything began, lol.
