{about us}

after having a baby and finishing school my hubby and i finally feel like life is starting! we struggle with just about everything but we are happily figuring things out as we go. the purpose of this blog is threefold, first to update our family and friends about what we're up to, second to show off and share my discoveries and accomplishments as a homemaker and most importantly to brag about that Lincoln boy! in turn there are two requirements for you to partake of this blog, leave comments so i know my effort has a purpose and of course, ENJOY!

Catching up!

I haven't blogged in forever, but I really want to catch up on things we did during the past two months, keeping a blog seems to be the easiest way to keep our family history, so forgive me for the onslaught!
In August, the Ross family was able to get together for a family reunion! Our last one was several years ago, and there were only 4 nieces and nephews (one in utero), so as you can see a lot has changed!
The first day we stayed at a hotel to visit with our relatives in Idaho. We don't stay in hotels very often, so it was fun! The next day we headed to the cabin in cascade, Idaho.
My sister Wendy and I planned almost everything! She was in charge and somehow I got sucked into helping, I think it was all because she wanted us to call and make reservations for certain things! But I didn't mind, I really loved planning everything, even though it really stressed me out that week!
The big hit in the cabin was the airhockey table! We drive up in the mountains surrounded by beautiful landscapes and tons of activities but this is what kept the kiddos busy most the time!
As soon as we got there Ethan and Sawyer asked Matt to take them on a "adventure hike." Ethan kept saying how much he loved nature, how beautiful it was, and that Matt was his favorite uncle.
We also busted out the fourwheelers as soon as we got there. Kamilla was usually the designated driver.
We had a fun unbirthday party where we exchanged gifts and had cake. It was so great to finally be together!
We may have been missing a few people, but we had all 14 nieces and nephews there! The only thing I was worried about for the week was all those kids getting along, and the great thing is they did! Even Lincoln was a little angel all week long!
On monday we went to some hot springs my older siblings had visited in their childhood. Although it was the scariest drive up and down the mountain on dirt roads, the water felt soooo nice and we had sooo much fun!

Chillin' with my Linc.
On tuesday we rented a four-wheeler! The fun was short lived because we totaled it.
We also had a couple rafting trips. Matt and I were on a different boat, it was my first time and I loved it! There were some incidents, such as "shelly's mistake" and the occasion when somehow dad showed up.
Some other activities over the next couple days included haircuts,
napping,
shooting,
and water gun fights.
On thursday we had a family olympics compitition. I wish I had been better at coming up with the games but everyone still had a great time. My very favorite activity was eat a donut of a string as fast as you can. It was nothing short of a riot.
That night we also busted up a pinata. Here is Lincoln with his bootie, a sucker in each hand as well as his mouth. (have you noticed this T shirt repeatedly? It was the reunion shirt that Matt and I designed. It says Don't Wake The Dragon, Cascade, ID 2010. It was a game we used to play as kids, we really just wanted an excuse to make a shirt with a dragon on it)
Grammers taking a whack at that spiderman!
The last day we rented a boat and had lots of toys to play with on it! Even Lincoln got on the tube, and promptly tried to fall asleep!
Matt and my brother Shawn took the lead this day. Here's Matt trying out the wakeboard.
Lincoln loved just sitting on the boat, where he did eventually get to take his nap.
Lincoln also loves his cousin Haylee! Me and Haylee are a little closer in age than Haylee is to Lincoln, I think that is interesting.
Matt was the only one able to do the Kneeboard and he was really good, he did some 360's and everything.
Shawn was by far the best at wakeboarding. Here he is showing off his skills.
Me and my sissie's. Man, I can't believe I have 5 sisters either. Love those girls!
For closing ceremonies we had sparklers! It was a great way to end it all.
View of the back of the cabin! We made some great memories there! I love my family so much and I am so grateful for Mom for getting this cabin, it was the best christmas present ever!!
Saying goodbye. We were pretty sad when it was over, and I thought I was over it by now, but making this post so late makes me really miss it!! Love you guys!!
