We had a nice easter at home this year, it was a wonderful coincidence that Easter and Conference were the same weekend.

The saturday before SF had an easter egg hunt. We had fun but made the mistake of getting their 20 minutes early. Trying to hold Lincoln back for that long was a struggle. I love this pic of Matt and Linc because they both look like dorks.

We were only their for about 2 minutes before Linc got mud on his bummy. Just leave it to Linc.

He had a blast thats for sure. Inside the eggs was candy (taffy? 2 year olds cannot have taffy even if i wanted to give it to him, oh well Matt and I had to suffer and eat it ourselves) and coupons for free karate lessons. Shelly thinks he'll need it in case someone tries to mess with him in nursery.
Why is the easter bunny so terrifying?! Kudos to Lincoln for not bawling his eyes out like 98% of the children that came within 48 inches of this easter bunny.

The next day was easter! Usually i'm all for doing the fun stuff the sat before but since we can watch conference at home i let it slide this year. Here is Lincoln hunting for eggs around the house!

One day Lincoln will have a real easter basket. For now we are stickin with the sand pail.

Just try and tell me you wouldn't be ecstatic to find egg shaped chalk in your easter basket? Linc sure was. Except so far all he does is throw them in the yard and down the drain pipe outside our back door (Matt fished the red one out of it today with fondue skewers) instead of coloring.
We made easter sugar cookies. I have a fantastic recipe from my friend Ashley that uses cream cheese but when i went to put in the almond extract i accidently put in mint extract. I'm sorry folks but it was not salvageable. Good thing the family sugar cookie recipe is still delicious and I wasn't so mad that i started over. And good thing i didn't use salt instead of sugar...

Oh and it snowed a truck load the night before. So between sessions Linc and daddy played. It's so nice to have a backyard, even if it is tiny!
I edited this picture. It just makes me happy.
Man, I wish we had a backyard! Or better yet, I wish we could come hang out with you guys in your backyard! That Linc is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE ALL OF THE PICTURES! I am so glad that we were all able to sit down and skype it was totally fun. WE MISS YOU!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I don't like the snow I sometimes wish it would snow just so Lincoln and I could play in the snow.
